There are few areas better than Lake Mývatn in the North of Iceland for viewing the Northern Lights. At the same time you can discover the wonders of the Icelandic winter as you will be in close proximity to the Arctic Circle.
Day 1 - Arrival
Overnight stay in Reykjavík, Icelands capital city.
Day 2 - Wonders of Lake Mývatn area
In the early morning, get yourself ready for a flight to Akureyri, the capital town of the North. From there we will arrange a transfer to your hotel. On the way you will see the most interesting places surrounding the Lake Mývatn area. The area is renowned for its natural beauty and geological wonders. Enjoy dinner at your country-side hotel and your first cosy evening under the night’s canopy. When the sky is clear, the Northern Lights will dance around, something we can’t describe in words.
Day 3 - at your leisure
Today is a free day to relax or to choose one of the many amazing activities available in the area.
In the evening dinner will be served at the hotel.
After dinner the ideal to end to the evening is a late night relaxation in the outdoor hot tub and enjoy the so often seen Northern Lights dancing around in striking colours across the Arctic sky. An experience you will surly never forget!
Day 4 - Akureyri, the capital of the North
In the morning, you visit the town of Akureyri, the trade and cultural centre of North Iceland, beautifully resting in a scenic fjord. After a short sightseeing tour, fly back to Reykjavik in the afternoon and check in at your hotel in the capital.
Day 5 – Departure

Snowmobile:
An exciting and adventurous snowmobile tour out on the frozen Lake Mývatn.
Super-Jeep Adventure:
Different tours available, but you will always get a combination of sightseeing and a super jeep adventure of the Mývatn region.
Sightseeing Tour:
Explore the surroundings of the lake, the volcanic and geothermal activity, the spectacular landscape and scenery.
Country Tour:
Amongst other things, you will visit a hydroelectric power station, see time past at an old turf farm and folk museum, visit Húsavík, a small fishing village and the Whale Museum.
Evening Northern Lights Tour:
If the Northern Lights will not show themselves, it is time to go on a hunt. It is unforgettable to stop in the middle of nowhere, step out of the car, inhale "the tranquility" and search for the Northern Lights.
Mývatn Nature Baths:
A wonderful lagoon with warm and soothing waters that are beneficial to skin and spirit alike.
Cross-Country skiing:
The Lake Mývatn area and surrounding highlands are ideal for cross-country skiing. Tours available for both beginners and the more experienced skiers.
Ice delights:
Different kinds of amusements on the frozen lake; Bowling, cricket, skating, mini golf, go-carts and more.
