Green World Holidays offers a wonderful range of activity holidays perfect for families, adult travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. Our multi adventure holidays cover Europe, Iceland, Scandinavia and Africa.
This is a 2 week family adventure holiday in Croatia, for active teenage kids and young spirited parents. A land and water sports holiday for this summer.
Experience; historical old towns, fun activities, local foods, cycling routes and even island life. From kayaking on the Adriatic Sea to discovering waterfalls in canyons and island hopping, this two week adventure holiday in Croatia will be inspiring from start to finish.
Throughout the 2 weeks, you will be guided by our professional Tour Leaders, that fulfil the impossible task of keeping those restless teenagers grinning from ear to ear. Enjoy the wonderful Croatian countryside during your first week, then Hvar island for the second. Relax and re-charge, far away from home life and watch your kids bond with other similar aged children.
This 14 night multi stop tour, offers the very best in watersports, nature, day trips and authentic Croatian culture. It’s a suitable trip for active children 10 years and above and for parents wishing for a combination of pre-planned excursions and time to switch off with a book.
We design our two week activity holidays with families in mind, just read our reviews and see our Facebook page. We are also rated 5 stars on Trip Advisor.
We recommend flying into Split airport where our guide will meet and greet you on your arrival. Your accommodation is a 4 star family owned hotel in the middle of Trogir. After check-in, your guide will go through the itinerary for the two week activity holidays ahead. Over night in Trogir.
Day 2: Trogir sightseeing
The journey begins in Trogir, a UNESCO heritage site which has curiously acted as a city ‘double’ for both Venice and Provence in recent Hollywood films. Firstly, we recommend that you enjoy an orientation walk along the many narrow cobblestone streets. Visit the fort, stop at a traditional cafe and meet the locals in the boutique shops. There are many day tours, starting from Trogir and we would highly recommend purchasing a cruise ticket to explore Brac Island. The tour boat will take you to Bol, famous for its golden horned beach, ‘Ziatna Rat’. You will have time to explore Brac and then it’s back on board the ship for a grilled fish lunch. A final sail back to shore ends this fantastic day and then it’s back to your accommodation. Overnight in Trogir.
Day 3: Trilj adventure base
From Trogir we take a 40 minute ride into the stunning hinterland of Croatian countryside. For the next 6 nights, as part of your 2 week in Croatia adventure, you’ll be located in the town of Trilj. This fantastic 3 star hotel, offers wifi, half board, games room, swimming pool, sun lounging area and air conditioned rooms. The hotel welcomes children from 9 years upwards, but there is a strong focus for teenage adventure holidays. After check-in, you’ll be meeting the other families, then we’ll begin our canoe safari. Paddling down gentle rapids, and calm river sections, we’ll enjoy the surroundings of river life, stop to play games and time for swimming.
Day 4: cycling
We have designed a perfect cycling day for families of all abilities. Your cycle guides will help you explore the hidden corridors of our countryside, from dusty trails to man made tracks dedicated to mountain biking. We will bike through vineyards, and descend valleys with the warm air on our face. As we cycle along a mixture of roads and single tracks, this biking trip presents some great technical challenges, and we do expect a reasonable level of fitness. But never fear – as there is a support van travelling behind the group, to rest those tired legs.
Day 5: Relax day
Today is left free for you to relax and visit your local surroundings with your family. Explore the river, take a taxi to the beach or simply relax around the pool. If you fancy something more energetic there are marked trails for biking and hiking.Further afield, but ideal for a day trip, is the UNESCO heritage town of Split. For further advice in how we can tailor make this family Croatia activity holiday to suit, please do ask our travel managers.
Day 6: Mini rafting
A big breakfast, then we set off on our mini rafting experience. We will take your family on a diverse range of rapids, dropping down waterfalls and enjoying the thrill of white waters. We love to challenge our guests, and there is no better way, than by steering your own vessel through gushing slip streams and foaming rapids. You don’t have to have previous paddling skills, but we will give you the full safety talk and the techniques to paddle safely in these grade 1-3 waters. After mini rafting, its back to the hotel to relax by the pool.
Day 7: White water rafting
Croatia has excellent grade 2/3 white water rafting river sections, which are perfect for parents, teenagers and children alike. Full concentration is needed as you tackle deep pools, bubbling gorges, spilling waterfalls and bumpy rocks. There are moments of incredible tranquillity, as your eyes feast on the nature that encloses you. Then there are moments of pure thrills and spills as the wave’s crash over and the family screams with delight. It really couldn’t be the best 2 week adventure holiday without being in this 8 man vessel and weaving down the big river waters. Don’t forget to bring your Go-Pro cameras. After rafting we travel to the pirate town of Omis. A stunning coastal old town, where our families can play on the beach, swim in the Adriatic Sea and soak up the Croatian sunshine.
Day 8: Canyoning
Our next adventure is canyoning. The Cetina canyon is vast, and we take a huge descent into the valley to find our natural playground. We will jump and slide along streaming water currents, find waterfalls and splash our way into warm & cold pools of water. It’s an incredible experience, so make sure you bring your water Go-pro cameras. Note: anyone scared of heights doesn’t need to be worried, as big jumps can be avoided.
Day 9: Hvar
Sadly, we have to leave the teenage adventure holiday base and move to Hvar island, for some chill out time. The island of Hvar is one of the finest of the Dalmatian many islands. Its loved for its rich Mediterranean nature, old traditions, pleasant architecture, and nightlife. Separation from the mainland, has created a unique environment for those that live on Hvar. There are vast fields of lavender, ancient olive trees, green vineyards, all residing in harmony between people and nature. Our active family holidays take a well deserved break here, and fall in love with the many beautiful beaches, secluded bays, unique gastronomy and high quality accommodation.
Day 10: Sea kayaking
Sea kayaking in Croatia is alot of fun and very safe! You’ll be paddling on the Adriatic Sea where you can enjoy the stunning coastline from a very different perspective. Alternatively, your children may ignite your competitive streak as the two man kayaks allow you to race in teams and test your families co-ordination and timing! Unless you have older teenagers we recommend one parent and one child per kayak.
Day 11: Beach day
Hvar is home to some of the most unique beaches in the Mediterranean, only rivalled by its sister island ‘Brac’ that lies adjacent. There are many beaches to choose from, so your family can experience a new location every day. Hvar’s coastline is inundated with secret bays and hidden coves, so find your own plot of paradise. The following can be organised as extra: windsurfing, sailing, Brac day trip, jet skis and cycling.
Day 12: Cycling in Hvar
We all know how much teens love being outside (they just have to be reminded to turn off their computer consoles!). Remember that first sense of real freedom that comes with your first push bike? The long summer days of out doors fun and exploration? This Croatia family 2 week holiday is the perfect way to relive that thrill with your children. Hvar is an unspoiled island that can best be seen along the coastal roads, through lush meadows & through its villages. The cycling pace is tailored to your families age and fitness level, so don’t worry if your not biking regularly at home. For pure cycling holidays in Hvar, ask our staff to tailor make a program.
Day 13: Split
Split is the 2nd largest city of Croatia and the largest city of the Dalmatia region, and will be your home for the remaining nights of your summer vacation. Often seen mainly as a ferry hub to the hip nearby islands like Hvar and Brac, Split is often overlooked for what it can offer tourists. The city contains a Diocletian’s Palace, which has Unesco World Heritage status. There are many impressive Roman monuments, a buzzing town atmosphere and two fantastic urban beach areas. Day trips are easily self organised, but we would first suggest a city orientation.
Day 14: Krka national park
The Krka national park is a must-see. Your guide will lead you through the magical hidden waterfalls where you can swim in the safe inviting pools, so don’t forget to pack the swimsuits! You will love exploring the footpaths and boarded walkways that cross the river and will leave you with some wonderful memories. No 2 week adventure holiday would be complete without discovering one of Croatia’s national parks.
Day 15: Departure day
Unfortunately today is your departure day but we are sure that you will be going home with some magical memories from Croatia. Your guide will take your family to Split airport where you will begin your transfer home. For more information don’t hesitate to contact our staff.
Extend your stay
If you would like to extend your stay at the start or end of your holiday, then please add your requests to the enquiry form or call our friendly staff for more ideas.
We (nine adults and four kids) have just come back from a splendid 14 day holiday with your company. I just had to write back and tell you how wonderful your staff are! Our tour leader Barry was fantastic, and deserve all the praise. He greeted us with a big smile at the terminal arrival hall and took us to Trogir, and stayed until we were all unpacked, then showed us to a superb local restaurant. He really went out of his way, to make sure we were happy and orientated. The 3 star hotel was perfect for the first 2 nights, rooms were clean and well appointed. Breakfasts weren’t amazing, but the kids often missed the morning call anyway! Our following 6 nights were in the small town of Trilj, and can only be described as teen paradise! There were so many other sporty families, that our kids buddied up quickley, and let the parents concentrate on drying as many local wines as possible. The days spent there we joyous! Laughter on every turn! Mini rafting and cycling were favourite days, but i know many of the teenagers and other mums loved the canyoning experience. We were very sad to leave Trilj, but delighted to say our next 4 nights on Hvar didn’t disappoint. The boutique hotel was very nicely laid out and all the rooms are a decent size with lots of storage space and quality modern bathrooms. Very nice and very comfortable. The hotel is close to the beach, and has a lovely swimming pool with loungers. We did take the half board option here, but we ate out most evenings. Hvar is a lovely island, and from there we took a day excursion to Brac – which we would definitely consider coming back to stay on. We visited Supetar and Bol as per your suggestions. Bol was a little crowded, but Supetar was gorgeous and the kids made full use of the aqua park and quieter beaches to play games on. We also had a brilliant time doing all the activities that Green World staff had to offer. We managed to fit in white water rafting, canyoning, dingy sailing, SUP boards, coastal hikes, zip wires, and even paragliding. The only possible downside is that Hvar can get a bit crowded in the old town, but our eldest daughter loved the busy nightlife (making full use of the cheap cocktails on offer). The hotel in Split was great. Nice to finish the trip in a 5 star hotel. The food there was very good but the rooms aren’t nearly as nice as the boutique hotel on Hvar. We had a great two week adventure holiday and I would certainly recommend it to families with children of all ages [our youngest is 10 years, and our eldest girl is 22). There is so much to do in Croatia and this tour is a great place to start! Hope this has been helpful xxx
